Phil Booth gained his BA, MPhil and PhD in Classics from Cambridge, and has worked in Oxford since 2008. He is the author of Crisis of Empire: Doctrine and Dissent at the End of Late Antiquity (Berkeley, CA, 2014), and of various articles on the history of the sixth- and seventh-century Near East. He is now A. G. Leventis Associate Professor of Eastern Christianity, in the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Theology and Religion, and the Director of the Oxford Centre for Late Antiquity.
